Morocco national team coach Hervé Renard will leave the team after
the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, according to top French paper l’Equipe.
The reports says
the two-time AFCON winning coach has already made up his mind and will step
down from the Atlas Lions however the outcome of their campaign at the
continental showpiece in Egypt.
He is currently
being monitored by several French Ligue 1 clubs and a couple of national teams
in Africa and Asia, according to reports.
Renard, 50, was
appointed in 2016 and led Morocco to the quarterfinals of the 2017 AFCON before
a qualification to the 2018 World Cup after 20 years of absence.
At Egypt 2019,
Morocco will face South Africa, Ivory Coast and Namibia in Group D.
He won the AFCON
with Zambia in 2012 and with Ivory Coast in 2015.
