Kenya Football Federation (KFF) has revealed that a friendly
against the Super Eagles may affect the confidence of its national team,
Harambee Stars who are returning to the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after a
15-year absence.
Towards this end, the FA is considering playing Madagascar, Uganda
or Ivory Coast in France where they would be camped before traveling to Egypt
in June.
“Playing away in
Abuja or Tunis with the probability of a heavy defeat just before the
tournament starts may not help the team’s confidence,” an FA source told Nairobi
News.
“Then the
proposed dates for these matches are too close to the tournament and there is
that possibility of getting injuries. You also have to factor in the weather.”
According to
reports, Harambee Stars head coach. Sebastian Migne is expected to name
his 30-man squad for the French camp this week.
