Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu has been replaced in the Super Eagles’ list for upcoming matches against Seychelles and Egypt on account of an injury he copped in action with his club last week.
The former KAA Gent of Belgium rising star has bow out and already replaced by Akwa United defender, Ikouwem Udoh Utin.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that Kalu will miss the last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles on March 22 at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, and international friendly with Egypt four days later at same venue due to the injury.
Eagles’ spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye added that Udoh, 19-year-old under-20 national team, Flying Eagles’ captain, has already been called up to replace the 21-year-old Kalu, who has suffered another blow, after his mother was only recently kidnapped and later release only after payment of ransom.
