Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu
has been replaced in the Super Eagles’ list for upcoming matches against
Seychelles and Egypt on account of an injury he copped in action with his club
last week.
The former KAA Gent of Belgium rising
star has bow out and already replaced by Akwa United defender, Ikouwem Udoh
Utin.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
confirmed that Kalu will miss the last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against
Seychelles on March 22 at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, and international
friendly with Egypt four days later at same venue due to the injury.
Eagles’ spokesman, Toyin Ibitoye
added that Udoh, 19-year-old under-20 national team, Flying Eagles’ captain,
has already been called up to replace the 21-year-old Kalu, who has suffered
another blow, after his mother was only recently kidnapped and later release
only after payment of ransom.
