With the AFCON 2019 qualifiers over this weekend as
the last games of the qualification series held across Africa, the teams set to
be part of the AFCON in Egypt have been seeded in pots ahead of the draw which
is slated for 12th April, 2019.
Nigeria, winner of group E have been seeded in pot 2
of the seeding process. The 3-time AFCON champion returned to the continental
showpiece after missing out since winning the 2013 edition of the AFCON in
South Africa.
The pot seeding which was released by the
Confederation of African Football is as follows;
POT 1: Egypt, Ghana, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon
and Senegal
POT 2: Nigeria, Morocco, Algeria, DR Congo, Mali and
Guinea
POT 3: Uganda, South Africa, Guinea Bissau, Zimbabwe,
Angola and Burundi
POT 4: Mauritania, Namibia, Benin, Kenya, Madagascar,
Tanzania.
