AFCON 2019 - Sudan Take On Equitorial Guinea

Sudan will in Group A of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers host Equatorial Guinea at the Al Hilal Stadium in Omdurman on Friday, 22 March, kick-off at 19h00 CAT.

Neither Sudan nor Equatorial Guinea can qualify for the AFCON finals, with the Group A slots already claimed by Senegal and Madagascar.

Sudan come into the match placed at the bottom of the group, having claimed just three points from five matches thus far.

The Falcons of Jediane claimed a creditable 3-1 away win at Madagascar in November 2018 in their last outing in the group, with goals from Mohamed Musa, Abuaagla Abdalla and Yasir Muzamil.

Equatorial Guinea, like their hosts, have just three points to their name after five outings in the qualifiers.

Nzalang Nacional suffered a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Senegal in November 2018, with the result confirming their mathematical elimination.

The teams’ first meeting in Group A took place in Bata in September 2018, with Equatorial Guinea claiming a 1-0 win thanks to a first-half goal from Emilio Nsue.

Guinea referee Sekou Ahmed Toure will take charge of the match in Omdurman. The other Group A clash between Senegal and Madagascar is scheduled for Saturday night.
